Spring brings mud. For this reason, students still need boots for recess, snowpants are optional.

This week, our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students each had the opportunity to take part in beautiful Lenten retreats.

Our Kindergarten and 1st graders walked through the Stations of the Cross, learning about Jesus’ journey and reflecting on why He was crucified. It was a powerful and meaningful experience for our youngest learners.

Our 2nd graders spent time preparing their hearts for their First Holy Eucharist. They are learning about the precious gift of the Body and Blood of Jesus and growing in their understanding of this special sacrament.

We are so proud of our students as they continue to grow in faith during this Lenten season. ✝️

Thank you, Mrs. Hoppel, for your time and committment to making these powerful experiences for our students.

Hello IC Families,

We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. As we begin the final quarter of the school year, we look forward to finishing strong together. We pray that God continues to guide our school community in faith, scholarship, kindness, and service.

Due to the weather forecast, tomorrow, Monday, March 16, will be a virtual learning day. Your packets sent home in January should contain the third day's materials. They can also be found online at: https://immaculateconceptionschoolia.sites.thrillshare.com/documents/friday-folders/virtual-day-3/26237862

Being snowed in is a great time to work on your STO applications. These are due by April 15. We encourage all families that fall at the 400% federal poverty rate and below to fill out an application for Student Tuition Organization (STO) AND the Educational Savings Account (ESA) application. The ESA will open on April 15 for all families with a hard deadline of June 30.

Thank you for choosing IC School and have a wonderful evening.

Blessings,

Mrs. L. Field

Our leadership team was grateful to host the Spring Teacher Luncheon—a small way to give back to those who give so much every day. Teachers had the chance to relax, enjoy a meal, and spend time visiting and socializing with one another—something that is well deserved this time of year. This luncheon has become a special treat as our teachers put in countless extra hours preparing for conferences. We see their dedication, and we are so thankful for their commitment to our students and families. 💛 #ICyourfullpotential

Monday, we lifted up those living with rare diseases and their families. We stand with them in compassion, support, and prayer, recognizing their strength and the incredible witness they give to perseverance and hope. Together, let’s continue to build a community where everyone is seen, included, and celebrated—just as God intended. 💙

In our Catholic faith, we are called to love, honor, and care for the elderly. They are not forgotten—they are treasured. Their wisdom, stories, and faith have helped shape who we are today. This week, our students put that love into action by creating heartfelt cards and letters in religion class for our loved ones in assisted living and nursing homes. Through simple acts of kindness, they reminded others—and themselves—that every person is seen, valued, and deeply loved. As a community, we are reminded that caring for our elders is not just an act of kindness, but a reflection of our faith. They are an important part of our Catholic family, and we are better because of them. ❤️

3rd Place!! 🏆Our IC 6th grader, Cedrick Docusin, landed in the final three contestants at the N.Iowa Spelling Bee last week! He battled through 64 intense rounds (40 rounds of the final three contestants) before he was eliminated by two 8th graders. Cedrick competed with two other IC students, Evee Knecht and Reese Patrie (and alternate, Ana Ngo), and were among 26 area students competing. We are so proud of our IC Scholars!
