As a school community, we would like to remember our loved ones who have passed away. Throughout the month of November, our students will be keeping them in their daily prayers. We invite you to send in photos, prayer cards, or memorial flyers to be included in our remembrance display. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Next week, we will honor our veterans. If you would like us to recognize a veteran in your family, please send a labeled picture with your child for our remembrance table. We also ask that you fill out this short form so we can announce your veteran's name and branch of service over the intercom during our daily prayer.

Hello IC Families,
This is a busy week!
Tomorrow, we celebrate the survivors of Pediatric Cancer and our friend, Axel.
The 5th and 6th grade band and orchestra students will need a sack lunch tomorrow as they are going to the symphony with Mrs. Boss and Mr. Paulson.
Tuesday and Thursday of this week are parent/teacher conferences from 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Students are encourged to attend. The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the LIBRARY this year. Come check out the book fair!
The Knights of Columbus have donated NEW winter coats again this year for our students. If your child is in need a winter coat they will be available in the school lobby during conferences.
Halloween parties are on Thursday afternoon. Students can make a donation to PAWS, our local animal shelter and bring their school appropriate costume to wear over their uniform at 2:00 p.m.
We have physical scrip cards available in the school office. A flyer is attached with this message of what we have left availalbe in the box.
Join us on Wednesday for mass. Mrs. Vorhes's 3rd graders will be leading mass and they will be 'marching in as saints'. Please join us for 8:30 a.m. and after mass for their presentation on the Saints in the social hall.
There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct. 30 and Monday, Nov. 2.

Fall is here! Just a reminder that if the building is cold, students will need their 1/4 zip, crewneck sweatshirt, cardigan, or long sleeve polo. They will need a jacket or coat for recess.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are Oct. 27th and 29th from 3:30 -7:30. Information was sent on last Monday to sign up for conferences. Please use the link to sign up for your child's conference. A Thank You to Our Charles City First Responders! 🚒🚓
We want to thank the Charles City Fire Department and Police Department for their quick response to a call at Immaculate Conception School at approximately 11:25 a.m. today.
A small issue involving a microwave meal caused some smoke and an unpleasant smell. Our students evacuated the building quickly and safely, and there was no harm or damage beyond the smell. Our local first responders arrived quickly and helped clear the smoke and smell from the area.
We are grateful for our students and staff responding quickly and safely, as well as for the professionalism and dedication of our Charles City Fire and Police Departments. Thank you for all you do to keep our school and community safe!

We are excited for McTeacher's Night tonight! Please join us between 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for supper! 20% of purchases when you mention IC will go to IC School from Soifer's McDonald's. If you purchase a coupon with cash 100% of the proceeds go to IC. Come join us at McDonald's! It is a fundraiser but it is also some community building!

Hello IC Families,
Picture retakes are this Monday, Sept. 28 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If your K-6th grader is taking a retake picure, they can bring a change of clothes for pictures but they will be expeted to be in uniform on Monday.
Grandparents Day invitations were sent to the addresses families provided for their child’s grandparents at registration. If you may have forgotten to submit an address, no worries! The invitation is attached to this message for you to share with your child’s grandparent(s) or a special person in their life.
If your child will be going home with their grandparent or special person following Grandparents Day, please be sure to let your child’s teacher and the school office know ahead of time.
Today we had our second Fun Pass Friday for tardies. A flyer is attached to this message to ensure we all have the same information.
